About David
Doctor David J Campbell, DMA MMus BMus Hon. hails from Toronto, Canada. Rigorously trained as a classical cellist, he expanded his artistic breadth to include work in a wide range of genres and settings. While completing graduate studies he began to be increasingly in demand for touring performance and recording, production, and teaching. Those travels have spanned five continents from Shanghai to Sydney to London to Tokyo to Los Angeles and New York. Notable venues transcend musical styles from Taipei's National Theater and Concert Hall to San Francisco's SFJazz Center, Chicago's Orchestra Hall to New York City's Terminal 5. In all, David has performed, recorded, or taught on hundreds of occasions in 43 US states, and over a dozen countries in North and South America, Oceania, Asia, and Europe. He plays on a pair of Wayne Burak cellos, with Coda bows, and Thomastik-Infeld Versum strings.
